Established in 1951, ex-Bendix employee Winton "Win" D. Jensen opened the doors of our company Jensen Engineering as a tool & machine design shop for several small and large companies throughout the Mid-West. Soon after, Win enlisted the help of his friend and fellow Bendix employee, Joseph W. Price to become a partner in the newly formed company.
Together Win & Joe compiled an impressive list of clientele throughout the United States during the 1950's and 60's which included most all of the Major Automobile and Aircraft Manufacturers, Defense Contractors, and even the newly created space agency NASA. Although much of Jensen's business was derived from large industry, most of the "Jensen" business was generated by locally owned, small to medium sized manufacturers in the Mid-West and still is today.
Jensen's business swelled to include well over 150 employees working in-house and in our clients facilities around the country. As manufacturing tailed off during the late 1960's and 70's, Jensen Engineering continued to achieve success by gearing itself toward it's most prized possession; our personnel. Since most of Jensen's clients need engineering help in their facilities, many of Jensen's direct employee's worked on-site with the client only to later become a permanent part of the clients engineering staff. Seeing a new opportunity, Jensen Engineering pioneered the "Rent-a-Pencil" staffing concept for manufacturers in the Kansas City area. Jensen supplied almost any engineering personnel needed to fulfill a manufacturing or design concept deadline.
Mr. Jensen eventually retired and sold the company to a group of investors who later sold the company to long time employee Mark Catanzaro. Mr. Catanzaro, who joined Jensen Engineering in 1980, continues with the Jensen tradition of providing quality engineering services and personnel to it's clients. After 50+ years of business, Jensen Engineering is now a family owned & locally operated business. Almost 60 years later, we still provide complete engineering services from project start to finish.
